New OECD Anti-Bribery Recommendation
On 26 November 2021 the OECD has amended its Recommendation for Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions. While not legally binding, the OECD Working Group on Bribery will from now on monitor how different members implement the new Recommendation in the context of its country-by-country evaluation of the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention. The new recommendation might therefore have the potential to significantly enhance the global enforcement of bribery of foreign public officials according to a first analysing Practice Alert by Nicola Bonucci and Nathaniel Edmonds recently published.
